It’s not going on the menu (no seasonal ingredients) but it was approved by the J&L duo last night. Sort of just came to me after getting pounded mercilessly in the well for four hours straight. It was National Cocktail Day yesterday. Not sure what that means.
I wanted to call this the widowmaker but deemed the name inappropriate. End Zone makes no sense but sounds cool.
Chef Keith described this one as an old man’s drink that went on vacation. It does have the underlying quality of something pre bottled you’d sneak into the back of a movie theater. Maybe annoy some old folks after being too hammered and get kicked out. Fresh lemon juice gives it a good zing.
For those unaware, banana and bourbon go hand in hand down the street, frolicking and kicking their heels like young lovers in the first six months of the relationship.
End Zone
2 oz. Bonded Bourbon
1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1 oz. Bananum
1/2 oz. AllSpice Dram
Shake and strain onto a BFR. Throw a sliced lemon on there if you feel frisky and give it a few dashes of Ango.
