At Home Bartending Hijinks: Blackbeard’s Quaffer

Yet another so-so black Manhattan variation. It tasted exactly like something I made with two normally fantastic ingredients that I didn’t want to waste once they were together.

Blackbeard’s Quaffer

2 oz. Aged Rum

1 oz. Averna

6 Dashes Ango

Twist of a lemon slice.

This isn’t that great. The lemon jangles against the rum.

When you go on a late night Pavillon’s run, you sometimes end up with delicious items of ill repute. Case in point: Cinnamon Toast Crunch. The G.O.A.T. of cereals. I know what you’re thinking. Yes, there’s been several CTC cocktails out there. Cinnamon is a very hot and cold ingredient. Those who love it, like myself, will put it on or in nearly everything but it’s one of those spices that people shy away from for some reason.

Anyway, there’s been a lot going on in my life. Lots of positive happenings. Unfortunately, it’s been taking a toll on the blog for the moment. Stick with me. It’ll get better as we glide toward winter.
