2. the drawing in of breath; inhalation. An act of breathing in; an inhalation.

Quick sidebar: So, what about exhalation? Is that the opposite of inspiration? Because sometimes it feels good to take a big deep breath then let it out nice and slow. Who writes for dictionary.com? I just read an article that said inspiration is akin to romantic infatuation and delivers feelings of potency and invincibility. Ah, this makes sense. Yes. Both provide a “cloud nine” feeling…While it lasts…Ha…It also makes work less boring if you have someone around to bounce ideas off…

If you’ve been to Rustic lately you’ll notice the seasonal section of the cocktail menu is a little lacking after the weekend. The sweet spot is five drinks but we’ve usually got six on there and right now there’s four with nothing in the pipe. This is what happens after a three day weekend. I’m of the type that doesn’t think much about work while I’m not there…Too much going on in the real world. Because I live in Hancock Park now I’m not a frequent flyer at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market much anymore so my thumb is far from the pulse of what’s going on. One of my favorite under the radar farms was always Garcia’s because they had great organic guava during this time of the year. Yeah, yeah, there’s produce lists but they’re somehow not the same.

I think I’m still slightly annoyed that Rustic was spending a shitload of money per candle for the bathrooms but they won’t spring for a pebble icer. The bar always seems to get short shrift funding for some reason. I get it. The food and Chef will always be the big star but it’d be nice if we could get some cool toys. I don’t expect a centrifuge like the fancy places…On that note, there isn’t any space behind the bar for a pebble icer anyway, but seeing what Cantina OK! is doing with even less space makes me wonder…But they don’t have wine and beer…But they don’t have a walk in either…I think they have access to a carbonation doohickey…Maybe that’s the next step in the learning curve…I have the hoses…Just need a CO2 tank…those puppies are real cheap…$29.00 apiece for enough gas to last quite some time…Like a person with IBS after eating three pounds of sunchokes…

This post is going nowhere…But over the horizon is…Well, work…I’ve got to be there in a few hours to do inventory and get set up…etc. And while writing this bunched up bit of thoughts, I think I may have thought of something interesting…It’s inspired by the universe…Ha…Ish…
