New Cocktail: Bishop’s Blood

If you can’t name a cocktail after the venerable Lance Hendrickson character from Aliens you’re simply not doing it right. Also, if you’re unaware of the reference you should probably go watch both Alien and Aliens back to back and then skip over the…Let’s see…One, two, three, four, five, six? Sequels? Well, prequels too. Jesus, it’s just as bad as the Star Wars franchise in terms of ultra shitty follow ups to the originals. Yes, I’m counting the two awful Aliens vs. Predator movies in there and double yes, there’s yet another one, the ninth, due out next year–Alien: Romulus— a story set between the events of Alien and Aliens while Ripley is safely asleep in the dark reaches of the void. Which I’m sure will be total drivel…That I will waste two hours of my life watching…

What brings us (me?) to continue down the reckless path of watching these movies when the first two were so damn good? Well, kinds readers, it’s because we think there will be a return to some former glory, that some studio, somewhere, will get it right…But no…It doesn’t work that way. Just ask Disney and the baffoonery surrounding Star Wars. A whole team of these idiots, along with hundreds of millions of dollars, couldn’t come up with anything good. it makes me wonder sometimes if that money would be better spent on more wholesome endeavors like building schools and providing decent health care to all. I’m sure there’s someway these companies could profit off it all eventually right? But just listen, there could be iHealth, Google Health, some sort of Amazon or Tesla thingamabob. There’s literal billions in profit tied up in these companies that could change the lives of everyone on the planet. Maybe Bezos just needs to keep getting divorced so his ex-wives can spread the money around a bit.

Not sure how I hit this tangent this morning…After all, this is supposed to be a cocktail blog…

…Back to Lance Hendrickson’s character, Bishop, from Aliens. He’s a construct, an android, whatever you want to call it, hence his blood, or the substance coursing through his body, is milky and opaque. In the beginning of the movie we see this in a small amount when he cuts himself by accident after performing a parlor trick with a knife amongst the colonial space marines and then much later in the movie in buckets when the queen alien rips him in half.

Gross? Yes. But given the original name, after the inventor, was Angel’s Milk, I think this is better…

We’ll have to talk further on a later date about how well tequila and funky white pot still rums and rhums, vibe…
