Triple the mango, triple the milk…Lot’s of rum. This is what happens when tiki meets India. No one said you couldn’t mash two cultures together to create a great Frankenstein’s monster of a drink. It’s alive. In terms of execution during service, this one could have less ingredients. When I wrote the recipe out, Angel was looking over my shoulder and I could see him squirming, fidgeting, his eye twitching. Oh yeah. When you put crazy tiki esque cocktails on the menu, the bartenders get real annoyed…For good reason…Let’s examine…
Triple Whammy
1 oz. Dark Rum Blend
.75 oz. Mango Lassi
.5 oz. Coconut Creme (cream)
.5 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz. Mango Liqueur
.5 oz. Mango Pit Ratafia
.25 oz. Almond Amazake Syrup
.25 oz. Mango Syrup
Shake it all up, strain onto BFR. Sprinkle with a touch of toasted cardamom dust.
It didn’t sell so great last night…It’s creamy, it’s weird.
The blog posting has been real erratic. My unit (they keep telling me it’s not an apartment) is full of boxes of books. Things will iron out as they always do.
